Meet the New Principal: Dr. Celeice Hood of Boston ES!

Our Principals are dedicated leaders, and as we look forward to the first day of school on Aug. 1, we’re introducing you to our new Principals …

Boston Elementary School Principal Dr. Celeice Hood can’t wait to meet her new school’s students and encourage their joy for learning.

A 15-year educator, Dr. Hood most recently served as an assistant principal at Creekland Middle School.  She began her career as a middle school teacher in Fulton County and joined CCSD in 2018 as an instructional lead strategist at Woodstock High School.

A past CCSD Superintendent’s Leadership Academy Dr. Frank R. Petruzielo Scholarship winner, Dr. Hood has been called upon by the school district and state organizations, including the Georgia Middle School Association and Georgia Educational Leadership Institute, to share her knowledge as a conference presenter.  She and her husband, Eric, have two children who both attend CCSD schools.

What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
“Witnessing the daily excitement and enthusiasm for learning that elementary school students bring will be a joy!  I am also looking forward to working alongside other school stakeholders to formulate a vision and action plan for school improvement.”

How will you elevate the excellence this school year?
“I am excited to support teachers with maximizing our new instructional resources to meet the demands of the standards.  I am also committed to ensuring our school processes are efficient, support the work of the classroom teacher, and are centered around student wellbeing.”

How can parents be more involved with your school?
“I have learned quickly that Boston is a welcoming place with a thriving PTSA.  Parents looking to get involved can join PTSA, consider apply to be a room parent, volunteer time or supplies for school events, and stay in communication with their child’s teacher to learn about specific ways to support their classroom.”
