CCSD School Choice Month and New Enrollment Information

February is School Choice Month for the Cherokee County School District!  

In February, CCSD opens the opportunity for parents to request a school reassignment for the next school year, including our STEM, STEAM and Fine Arts Academies; this year, registration for our online high school, i-Grad Virtual Academy, begins a little later on March 11.  Registration for Pre-K, kindergarten and Grades 1-12 new student enrollment for the next school year begins in March.

  • Apply Feb. 1-March 1 for school choice reassignment for any of the 18 schools with capacity for next school year (13 elementary schools, including five Cherokee Academies – STEM, Fine Arts and STEAM: Arnold Mill ES, Ball Ground ES STEM Academy, Bascomb ES, Boston ES, Hasty ES Fine Arts Academy, Holly Springs ES STEM Academy, Indian Knoll ES, Johnston ES, Knox ES STEM Academy, Macedonia ES, Mountain Road ES, Oak Grove ES STEAM Academy, Sixes ES; three middle schools: Freedom MS, Mill Creek MS, Woodstock MS; two high schools: River Ridge HS, Sequoyah HS).  More information: then click on School Reassignment.
  • Apply March 18-29 for the Georgia Pre-K lottery drawing for a spot in CCSD’s Pre-K program for next school year, with seven locations offered (Ball Ground ES STEM Academy, Hasty ES Fine Arts Academy, Holly Springs ES STEM Academy, Johnston Preschool Center (at Johnton ES), Oak Grove Preschool (at Oak Grove ES STEAM Academy), Ralph Bunche Center, R.M.
