CCSD schools you attended: Canton ES, Boston ES, Buffington ES, Teasley MS and Cherokee HS
Favorite subject in school: Math! I have always been fascinated that some aspect of math is a factor in almost all decisions made in daily life.
Favorite teacher and why: Each classroom teacher, coach and administrator I had during my entire school career made an impact on me and helped me develop into the person I am today.
Interesting fact about you from your high school days: One of my special high school highlights as a Cherokee High School Warrior was being blessed to participate in state level athletic competition in three different sports – basketball, track, and cross county. In track, I held two CHS School Records for 20 years and received a college scholarship to run track and cross county.
School: Free Home ES
Position with CCSD: Principal
Why did you become an educator? I was one of those kids who always wanted to be a teacher. My most influential role models were educators; therefore, my top plan for a career choice was always education. Currently, 18 years into my career, working with students, teachers, other administrators, and our school community continues to be my passion.
Why did you want to work for CCSD? As a proud product of the Cherokee County School District, I consider it an honor and privilege to be able to give back to the school district that has given so much to me. Four generations of my family have attended CCSD.
